AICHE +Monday Integration
Voice input for work management
Speak your updates directly into Monday boards.
The short answer: open any Monday.com item, click into a text column or updates section, press ⌃+⌥+R (Mac) or Ctrl+Alt+R (Windows/Linux), speak for 30-60 seconds, and AICHE inserts the transcribed text at your cursor.
Monday.com boards flex to fit any workflow, which means every team configures theirs differently. Marketing uses it for campaign tracking. Engineering uses it for sprint management. Operations uses it for vendor onboarding. The common thread is that every board has text fields that need filling: item updates, long text columns, status explanations. Teams that use Monday for client-facing work need those updates to be polished and detailed. But typing status updates across 3-4 boards every day eats 45-60 minutes, and the updates get shorter and vaguer as the day goes on. Voice keeps them consistent.
- Open Monday.com in your browser.
- Navigate to a board and click on any item to open its detail panel.
- Click into the Updates section at the bottom, or click a Long Text or Text column.
- Press your AICHE hotkey (⌃+⌥+R on Mac, Ctrl+Alt+R on Windows/Linux) to start recording.
- Speak your update naturally. Include what's done, what's in progress, any blockers, and next steps.
- Press the hotkey again. AICHE transcribes your speech and inserts it into the active field.
- Tag team members with @ mentions, change the Status column, and adjust timeline dates using Monday's interface.
Daily Status Updates Across Multiple Boards
Most Monday.com users touch 2-4 boards daily. Each board has items that need updates. The temptation is to change the Status column to "Working on it" and move on. But status columns don't explain what "working on it" actually means, and your manager or client has to ping you to find out. Voice makes real updates viable. Open an item, press your hotkey, and say what you actually did: "Finished the first draft of the API integration spec. Sent it to the backend team for review. Waiting on their feedback before starting implementation. Should have their response by Wednesday." That's a 10-second dictation that replaces a 5-minute Slack thread. If you enable Message Ready in AICHE settings, your casual speech gets formatted into professional text suitable for client-visible boards.
Client-Facing Progress Reports
When clients have guest access to your Monday boards, every update you write is visible to them. This raises the bar for quality. Typos, unclear language, and missing context all reflect poorly. Typing polished updates takes even longer because you're self-editing as you go. With AICHE's Message Ready feature, you speak naturally and the output reads professionally. Say "We hit a snag with the payment gateway integration because their sandbox environment was down for two days, but we worked around it by mocking the API responses and we're back on track for the Thursday deadline." AICHE turns that into clean, structured text that a client can read without needing translation.
Filling Monday WorkForms and Intake Requests
Monday WorkForms are used for project requests, bug reports, and intake processes. These forms often have multiple text fields: description, business justification, requirements, expected timeline. Filling them out by typing is tedious enough that people submit incomplete forms, which creates back-and-forth. Press your hotkey in each text field and speak the answer. A form that takes 15 minutes to type through takes 4 minutes with voice. The responses are more detailed because speaking is less effortful than typing, so reviewers get the information they need on the first submission.
Heads-up: Monday.com's Updates section supports rich text, but AICHE inserts plain text. Use Monday's formatting toolbar after dictation to add bold, bullets, or headers if needed.
Pro tip: develop a mental template for updates: what happened, what's next, any blockers. Use the same structure every time you dictate. Consistency makes your updates easier for teammates to scan across items.
Result: updating 12 items across 3 boards that takes 50 minutes of typing becomes 15 minutes of dictation, and every update includes enough context that nobody needs to ask follow-up questions.
Do this now: open a Monday.com item, click into the Updates section, press your hotkey, and dictate what you accomplished today and what's coming next.
