Works on
macOS

Short answer: open Apple Mail, click into a compose or reply field, press ⌃+⌥+R, speak as long as you need, press again. AICHE inserts the cleaned-up email at your cursor. Send.

Apple Mail is built around a privacy posture: tracking-pixel blocking, Hide My Email aliases, no advertising tax on your inbox. The dictation story should match. AICHE is a press-speak-press hotkey on top of macOS that handles paragraphs of text reliably and deletes the audio within seconds of processing.

How It Works

  1. Open Apple Mail.
  2. Click New Message (⌘+N) or open a thread and click Reply.
  3. Click into the message body.
  4. Press ⌃+⌥+R to start recording.
  5. Speak the full email: greeting, body, closing. No length cap.
  6. Press ⌃+⌥+R again. AICHE transcribes, cleans up filler, inserts.
  7. Review, send (⌘+Shift+D).

Heads-up: Mail respects your default font and color (set in Mail → Settings → Fonts & Colors). Inserted text adopts those automatically.

Where Voice Pays Off

VIP Replies in 30 Seconds

Mail's VIP feature flags messages from people you've marked as important. They get their own mailbox and a louder notification. Pair that with AICHE: VIP email lands, you open it, hit Reply, dictate a full thoughtful response in 30-45 seconds, send. Important people get fast, complete responses without the typing tax.

Thoughtful Long Replies

Some emails need real care: a hiring decision, a contract clarification, a family medical update, a partner project handoff. Typing them carefully takes 10-15 minutes because you are simultaneously deciding what to say and how to say it. Speaking separates the two. Talk through what you mean, let AI cleanup handle structure and punctuation, then review and edit before sending. The first draft is in the compose field in under a minute.

Smart-Mailbox Inbox Sweeps

Mail's rules and smart mailboxes sort incoming mail into per-context buckets (work, personal, newsletters, follow-ups). Work through one bucket at a time, dictating replies as you go. Scan, hit Reply, speak, send, next. Inbox processing turns into a steady scan-speak-send rhythm.

Bridge-Connected Accounts

If you use ProtonMail Bridge or any third-party SMTP/IMAP setup with Apple Mail, AICHE works the same way. The hotkey inserts text into whatever compose window has focus, regardless of which account is sending.

Privacy

You picked Apple Mail (and probably also ProtonMail or iCloud Mail) because you don't want your inbox monetized. AICHE's audio handling lines up:

  • Audio travels to the transcription server over modern TLS.
  • The audio file is discarded immediately after processing, within 1 second.
  • Nothing is stored, retained, or used for training. No IP logs, no activity tracking.
  • The transcribed text exists on your device and in Mail's compose field. That's it.

Sensitive emails (legal, medical, financial) leave no audio trail.

What You Get

  • Unlimited voice notes with AI cleanup - filler words removed, punctuation and paragraph breaks added.
  • System-wide dictation - one hotkey, every Mac app, not only Mail.
  • Custom vocabulary - drop in client names, project codenames, contacts. AICHE spells them right.
  • Multilingual voice input - speak in any supported language, get text in that language.
  • Zero-retention audio - 2-3 second processing window.
  • End-to-end encrypted sync - notes encrypted on your device before any cross-device sync.

Plans start at $3.99/mo (annual) with a 7-day free trial, no credit card. See pricing.

Common Questions

Q: Does this replace macOS dictation entirely?
A: For Apple Mail composition, yes. AICHE doesn't time out, doesn't need Fn-key holding, and handles paragraphs of speech in one go.

Q: Will it work with Hide My Email aliases?
A: Yes. AICHE only handles the text. The address routing is Mail's job.

Q: Can I dictate in the subject line?
A: Yes. Click into the subject field first, then press the hotkey.

Q: What about Apple Mail on iPad or iPhone?
A: Use the AICHE iPhone or iPad app for voice capture, then paste into Mail Mobile. Notes sync via end-to-end encrypted cloud, so anything captured on one device is on your other devices instantly.

Q: Does this conflict with Apple's Smart Reply or VIP notifications?
A: No. AICHE is independent of Mail's intelligence features. Smart Reply suggestions still appear; you can dictate over them or accept them.

Result: processing 25 thoughtful emails that takes 90 minutes of careful typing becomes 30 minutes of dictation with review. The privacy posture of your inbox stays intact.

Try it now: open Mail, press ⌘+N, press your hotkey, and dictate a real email to someone you've been meaning to write back to.
