AICHE +Protonmail Integration
Voice input for encrypted email
Speak your secure emails directly into ProtonMail.
The short answer: open ProtonMail in your browser, click into the compose or reply field, press ⌃+⌥+R (Mac) or Ctrl+Alt+R (Windows/Linux), speak for 30-60 seconds, and AICHE inserts the formatted email. ProtonMail then encrypts the message before sending.
You chose ProtonMail for a reason. No ads, no tracking, end-to-end encryption, Swiss privacy laws. You deliberately gave up the convenience of Gmail's ecosystem because keeping your communications private matters to you. The tradeoff should not include slower email composition, but it often does because ProtonMail's web interface does not have built-in voice input.
- Open ProtonMail in your browser at mail.proton.me.
- Click New Message or open a thread and click Reply.
- Click into the message body so your cursor is active.
- Press ⌃+⌥+R (Mac) or Ctrl+Alt+R (Windows/Linux) to start recording.
- Speak your complete message, including any details you need to communicate securely.
- Press the hotkey again. AICHE transcribes and inserts the formatted text.
- Review the message, then click Send. ProtonMail applies end-to-end encryption before delivery.
Heads-up: AICHE inserts plain text into the compose field. ProtonMail's encryption applies to whatever is in that field when you click Send. The voice-to-text step happens before encryption, and the text is what gets encrypted and delivered.
How Voice Data Privacy Aligns with ProtonMail
If you use ProtonMail, you probably scrutinize how your tools handle data. Here is how AICHE handles voice recordings: your audio is sent to cloud AI for transcription, the text comes back, and the audio is purged within 15 seconds. No voice recordings are stored. No audio data is used for model training. No copies persist on any server after the transcription completes.
This is not the same as saying "your data is private" and leaving it vague. The specific claim is a 15-second retention window for processing, after which the audio file is deleted. Your transcribed text exists only on your device and in ProtonMail's compose field, where ProtonMail's own encryption takes over.
For ProtonMail users who evaluate every tool in their workflow for data handling practices, AICHE's zero-retention audio policy is the relevant detail. Your spoken words become text, and the audio evidence of those words is gone within seconds.
Encrypted Business Correspondence
ProtonMail is increasingly used for business communication where confidentiality matters. Legal discussions, contract negotiations, healthcare correspondence, financial planning. These emails tend to be detailed and carefully worded, which makes them slow to type.
Speaking a detailed message about contract terms or medical information takes 45-60 seconds. Typing the same content with the same level of care takes 10-15 minutes because you are simultaneously thinking about what to say and how to say it precisely. With AICHE, you separate those concerns. Speak what you mean, let Message Ready handle the structure and tone, then review before sending. The review step is where you catch anything that needs rewording. But the first draft arrives in seconds instead of minutes.
Enable Message Ready in AICHE settings for business ProtonMail correspondence. Your spoken thoughts get organized into properly punctuated, well-structured paragraphs. The formality level stays professional without sounding robotic, which matters when encrypted emails are your primary business communication channel.
Password-Protected Messages to Non-Proton Recipients
ProtonMail lets you send encrypted messages to people who do not use ProtonMail by setting a password on the message. The recipient gets a link and enters the password to read the email. These password-protected messages are often used for sending sensitive documents or confidential information to external contacts.
The content of these messages usually needs to be thorough. You are explaining what the attached document is, why it is being sent encrypted, what the recipient should do with it, and any deadlines or follow-up steps. That is a 200-300 word email minimum. Dictating that explanation takes under a minute. Typing it takes 5-8 minutes.
After dictating, add attachments and set the password using ProtonMail's interface. AICHE handles the text composition; ProtonMail handles the security layer.
The pro-tip: if you handle confidential communications for clients or patients, keep Clean Language enabled in AICHE settings. It ensures that even casual spoken phrasing gets filtered into appropriate professional language before it enters the encrypted email.
Result: composing 20 secure emails that takes 3 hours of careful typing becomes 45 minutes of dictation, and you maintain both speed and privacy without compromising either one.
Do this now: open ProtonMail, click New Message, press your hotkey, and dictate a complete message to any contact. Notice how the text arrives formatted and ready for ProtonMail's encryption.
