AICHE +HHeight Integration
Voice input for AI-powered project management
Speak rich task descriptions into Height. Better input means better AI suggestions.
The short answer: open Height, create a new task or click into an existing description, press ⌃+⌥+R (Mac) or Ctrl+Alt+R (Windows/Linux), speak your complete specification for 60-90 seconds, and AICHE inserts formatted text that Height's AI can work with.
Height uses AI to auto-organize tasks, suggest labels, detect duplicates, and recommend next actions. But AI suggestions are only as good as the input they're based on. A task titled "Fix search" with no description gives Height nothing to work with. A task with a detailed description explaining which search endpoint is broken, what the expected behavior is, which users reported it, and what the likely root cause is gives Height's AI enough context to suggest the right labels, link related issues, and flag duplicates. The problem is that writing those detailed descriptions takes 8-10 minutes per task. Voice drops that to under a minute, which means Height's AI features actually get the input they need to be useful.
- Open Height in your browser or the desktop app.
- Click the "+" button or use the keyboard shortcut to create a new task.
- Type a short title, then click into the description field.
- Press your AICHE hotkey (⌃+⌥+R on Mac, Ctrl+Alt+R on Windows/Linux) to start recording.
- Speak the full context: what the task is, why it matters, what the acceptance criteria are, and any technical details or constraints.
- Press the hotkey again. AICHE transcribes your speech and inserts it into the description field.
- Let Height's AI suggest labels and organization, then add assignees, set estimates, and link to a sprint using Height's interface.
Task Creation with Context for AI Suggestions
Height's AI features activate when tasks have enough information. Duplicate detection, for example, works by comparing the content of your new task against existing tasks. If your new task says "fix search," Height might not catch that there's already a task called "search results returning stale data." But if you dictate a full description, "The search endpoint on the dashboard is returning results from the cached index instead of the live database. Users reported seeing deleted items in search results up to 30 minutes after deletion. The Elasticsearch refresh interval might need adjusting, or we need to invalidate the cache on write operations," Height has enough signal to flag the existing task and prevent duplicate work. The same principle applies to auto-labeling and priority suggestions. More context in, better suggestions out.
Sprint Planning with Voice Notes
Height organizes work into sprints with lists and filters. During sprint planning, you're deciding which tasks go into the next cycle, adjusting scope, and adding context. This typically involves updating 10-20 tasks in a sitting. Voice makes the review fast. Open a task, click the description, press your hotkey, and add scoping notes: "Reducing scope for this sprint. We'll handle the read path only. Write path optimization goes to next sprint. Estimated at 3 points for the read-side changes." Move to the next task and repeat. You can process the entire sprint backlog in one session without your hands leaving the keyboard except to press the hotkey.
Form Submissions and Intake Requests
Height supports forms for project requests and intake workflows. These forms typically have multiple text fields: description, business justification, success criteria, timeline. Filling them out by typing is slow enough that submitters cut corners, leaving reviewers with incomplete information and follow-up questions. With AICHE, click into each form field, press your hotkey, and speak the answer. A form with five text fields that takes 15 minutes to type takes 4 minutes with voice, and the responses are more detailed because speaking requires less effort. Better intake submissions mean fewer rounds of clarification before work begins.
Heads-up: after AICHE inserts your dictated text, give Height a moment to process the description. Its AI features, like label suggestions and duplicate detection, analyze the text and surface recommendations. The more detail in your description, the more accurate these suggestions will be.
Pro tip: when dictating task descriptions, include keywords that match your team's label taxonomy. If your team uses labels like "frontend," "backend," "infrastructure," and "design," mentioning these terms in your spoken description helps Height's AI auto-apply the correct labels.
Result: tasks created in Height carry enough context for the AI to suggest labels, detect duplicates, and recommend priorities accurately, turning Height from a task list into an intelligent project management system, all because voice made detailed descriptions effortless.
Do this now: open Height, create a new task, press your hotkey, and dictate a complete specification. Watch how Height's AI responds differently when it has real context to work with.
