The short answer: Download the installer, run it as Administrator, grant microphone permissions, and start recording with Ctrl+Alt+R.
Windows security dialogs add 3 extra clicks to what should be a simple installation.

Installation Steps
Download
- Visit aiche.app landing page and click "Download for Windows"
- Or download from your profile downloads section if you already have an account
- Save the installer (e.g.,
AICHE-Desktop-Setup-1.1.10.exe) to Downloads
Install
- Run the downloaded setup file as Administrator
- If SmartScreen appears: More info → Run anyway
- Follow the installer:
- Accept license agreement
- Choose install location (default: C:\Program Files\AICHE)
- Click Install
Permissions
During installation, approve these:
- User Account Control: Click Yes
- Windows Firewall: Allow access for private and public networks
- Microphone Access: Grant when first launching
First Launch
Sign In
- AICHE opens after installation
- Click "Sign In" button
- Your browser opens to aiche.app/connect-desktop
- Log in with your account (or create one if needed)
- Click "Confirm Authorization" button
- Authorization completes via deep link and the app activates automatically
Manual activation: If the automatic deep link doesn't work, copy the Device Code shown on the page and paste it manually:

Privacy Notice
On first launch, you'll see AICHE's privacy commitment:
Test Recording
- Press Ctrl+Alt+R from any text field
- Red ring shows recording active
- Speak your text
- Press Ctrl+Alt+R again to stop
- Text appears at cursor position
System Tray
AICHE runs from your system tray:
- Single click: Show/hide window
- Right click: Menu options
- Icon changes: Shows recording status

Auto-Start
To launch with Windows:
- Right-click AICHE in system tray
- Select "Settings"
- Check "Start with Windows"
- Click Save
Troubleshooting
Microphone Not Working
- Settings → Privacy → Microphone
- Toggle "Allow apps to access microphone" ON
- Find AICHE in list and enable
- Restart AICHE
Hotkey Not Registering
- Run AICHE as Administrator
- Check no other app uses Ctrl+Alt+R
- Try restarting Windows
SmartScreen Blocking
This is normal for new software:
- Click "More info"
- Click "Run anyway"
- AICHE is safe but not yet Microsoft-verified
Antivirus Interference
Add AICHE to your antivirus exceptions:
- Windows Defender: Settings → Virus & threat protection → Exclusions
- Add folder: C:\Program Files\AICHE
Updates
AICHE checks for updates automatically:
- Notification appears when available
- Click "Update Now"
- AICHE restarts with new version
Manual check: Settings → About → Check for Updates
Uninstall
To remove AICHE:
- Close AICHE (system tray → Quit)
- Settings → Apps → AICHE
- Click Uninstall
- Follow uninstaller
Or use Control Panel:
- Control Panel → Programs and Features
- Find AICHE
- Click Uninstall

AICHE works with all Windows applications:
- Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge)
- Code editors (VS Code, Visual Studio)
- Any application with text input
Tips
Performance
- Disable Windows audio enhancements for cleaner input
- Use USB microphone for best quality
- Close unused audio applications
Privacy
- AICHE only accesses microphone when you press hotkey
- Audio is processed and immediately deleted
- Local history is encrypted
Heads-up: Grant all permissions on first launch or the global hotkey won't work.
The pro-tip: Pin AICHE to your taskbar for quick access to the main window, even though recording works from anywhere via hotkey.
Result: Full installation takes under 3 minutes including all permissions.
