Works on:
macOS

The short answer: press ⌃+⌥+R (Control+Option+R) from any Mac application, speak for 30-60 seconds, and AICHE transcribes and inserts the text where your cursor was.

Switching between your work application, AICHE's window, and back to paste text takes 12-15 seconds per dictation and breaks concentration.

  1. Download AICHE from aiche.app and drag it to Applications.
  2. Launch AICHE and grant Microphone permission when prompted.
  3. Grant Accessibility permission in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
  4. Click into any text field in any Mac application.
  5. Press ⌃+⌥+R to start recording-you'll hear a brief sound.
  6. Speak naturally for 30-60 seconds.
  7. Press ⌃+⌥+R again to stop-AICHE processes for 2-3 seconds.
  8. Text appears at your cursor position automatically.

Heads-up: Accessibility permission is required for Smart Insert to work. Without it, text copies to clipboard but won't auto-insert.

The pro-tip: AICHE runs in your menu bar. The icon changes color during recording (red) and processing (green), so you know the status without opening the window.

Result: A 200-word email that takes 5 minutes to type becomes 90 seconds of speaking plus 3 seconds of processing.

Do this now: Open TextEdit, click in the document, press ⌃+⌥+R, say "This is a test of AICHE on my Mac," and watch it appear.
